Hi all,
Unique situation.
The following pictures are taken in the dining room. So I noticed if I look in one of the back corners I can see a gap between the dining room and basement? I have no idea why or what this means it starts out in a corner appears wide then gets smaller. Is this serious? The last pic u can see it’s covered and I can’t see below in the basement unlike the first picture

Is this area an addition?

Because you say you can see into the basement, indicates that the floor sheating was placed after the wall framing was stood.

Just looks like someone did a poopy job measuring the underlayment to me.
If there was a baseboard and 1/4 round the gap would not be there.
