After checking out this thread, I was curious how you would treat white board paint. Recently, in our conference room we painted a wall with the white board paint. We had to do 4 layers and counting! The marker imprints still linger and it looks like we're going to have to go for a 5th layer.

We didn't do any sanding, but I assume that isn't necessary for this application? What brand(s) are the best for it? Is this normal?

Not sure what you mean when you say with board paint.
If it was one of those white boards with the slick surface that you can use erasable markers on it never should have been painted. It's made so stuff does not stick to it.
Or are you talking about white paint over wooden boards? If so and there was marker on it then it should have been cleaned lightly sanded and primed with a sealing primer before painting.

Nope, it's paint that when it dries turns the wall into an dry erase board like this. We've been slathering the wall with multiple layers! Is this normal or did we apply it wrong? Has anyone else had any experience with this?

There are several brands of dry erase white board paint and several different degrees of prep required for each one. Which brand are you using and what surface are you applying it over??

^ Good question. Do you know the particular brand by chance?

Also, what surface we're you painting over and how long did you give the paint to dry before using the markers on it?

4-5 coats sounds like a bit much, sounds like something is off.
