wiring thermostat

I was wiring a new Honeywell thermostat w/ heat pump, and by mistake wired common to crossover (Hwell said this may have dmged trnsfmer). I now have no power to thermostat, and have reset the breaker several times. Any Suggestions ?

circuit breaker to air handler or breaker on transformer?
If transformer, you may be able to locate what the problem is from there and disconnect.
If at the circuit breaker box, you had a dead short problem inside the transformer.
Replace the transformer.

Probably have fixed this by now. You probably blew the small fuse in the circuit. Check the circuit board for a fuse.
