I'd appreciate your opinions on how replacement vinyl windows should be trimmed on the exterior. Attached are some photos of our recent install. Is metal capping typically used in this application. Was it installed correctly? Thank you!

Thanks Bud16415. We're working on the issue. I did find a person who used an incense stick to locate the air leak. The leak is where the smoke moves horizontally; where it rises upward the area is sealed. I hope this makes sense.

Thank you ekrig, yes, it's unsightly and our worry is structural damage to the window. It's been difficult getting seller and installer to respond, but we're pretty stubborn folk so we'll see!

Please let me know how Simonton windows should look and sound after installation. Photos attached correspond to the sash stop area and how the channels/grooves were cut out.

We are having the same howling problem but, in our case, it looks like the installer cut into the channel track altogether. Appreciate any and all opinions. Thank you!
