    Identifying missing screen door parts

Can anyone tell me the names of the missing pieces? Or point me to a taxonomy of parts used in screen doors?

    Identifying missing screen door parts

I have a screen door with a sliding track on the bottom (the rolling wheels are at the top). There is a fixed track on the floor and another track mounted on the bottom of the door itself. I remember having some extra parts there, but somehow they got detached and got lost. I need help...

    Bath tub installation

I had the warranty drawn out in his name, given that he'd been changing company names.

    Blocking

BridgeMan: I'll have to keep your notes in mind when it comes time to put in a Murphy bed. It sounds like we'll need to pry open the dry wall and put in proper heavy duty blocking.

    Bath tub installation

I don't know if I should remain concerned about the tub. As mentioned here ( http://www.houserepairtalk.com/f45/final-thoughts-renovation-14289/ ), there was a draft when, after the installation, the grout around the tub edge cracked - joecaption was right to note insulation/drywall was missing...

    Final Thoughts on Renovation

Forgot to mention the contractor installed the various bathroom knobs and they came out too easily if pulled (if leaning to turn a knob above the tub, you sometimes turn it and pull at the same time). The bath tub/sink seller saw pictures sent by us and said that certain pieces were missing from...

    Subfloors

We eventually had our contractor put a second subfloor layer purchased by us. It was higher quality plywood. We had them screw the subfloor in with screws purchased by us. As mentioned on a different thread ( http://www.houserepairtalk.com/f45/final-thoughts-renovation-14289/ ), at least two...

Renovation: Paying for Civil Engineer Inspections

oldog/newtrick: we (homeowners) made initial contact with the engineer. The engineer made a few visits and we invited him to help with a final inspection, without trying to push the building department. He was more than accommodating with his fees and we paid him in full. Final forms pending.

    Final Thoughts on Renovation

So anyway I was promising everyone that I'd keep you updated on the various threads I opened with questions. I should begin though by thanking you for all your help throughout. You've been a valuable resource. The threads were: http://www.houserepairtalk.com/f45/subfloors-12639/...

    Subfloors

We're putting hardwood flooring (oak) in the whole apartment, with the exception of the bathroom, where we'll put tile.

    Subfloors

I understand your point about Advantec, but since we didn't mention it in the contract he doesn't necessarily have to use it. He only needs to do what's standard. I think he used CDX plywood. Can you tell from the pictures that the plywood he used isn't good enough? I don't want to bust the...

    Bath tub installation

Fair point. We still needed to demo before knowing for sure. This puts the blame squarely on the contractor. A second inspection has been performed, but not by the building inspector. It's been performed by the civil engineer. I haven't talked to the civil engineer yet about exactly what he's...

Renovation: Paying for Civil Engineer Inspections

The latest here... I left the engineer a voice mail, got back a voice mail explaining that he does this because the building department requires him to do so. He also explained again that he needs to be paid for his time, normally $200/hour. Anyway, also talked to the building department, and...

    Bath tub installation

Joecaption: Yes, we sent the manufacturer pictures and they said it should be fine. Saw a bit of the status today. They put what looks like toothpaste (probably silicone) onto the area. Nealtw: We found this contractor after interviewing a lot of them. It was through references. He's doing...
