The commercials were decent overall...the game was actually good, glad to see someone new win the super bowl instead of one of the typical powerhouses.
An underwater or outdoor spot light might also look nice and help solve your problem too. I know we used to always find creative ways of placing lighting in to our water features.
I agree with Stoggs...you can drastically change the "appearance" of the color in a room just by choosing different types of lighting AND different types of bulbs (ie: cool, warm, fluorescent, ect.)
Color chips are just the beginning.
After doing a lot of projects in the southeast, I can definitely say you would be perfectly fine putting in recessed lighting in this space.
However, just as mentioned before, don't go overboard.
Track lighting will work, but for the clean, sleek look I would go with recessed all the way!!

Those boxes do look fantastic! And yes KatyE, the boxes are the best way to accomplish what you want. We've done similar projects for clients with home of the same time period.
Finding the right fixtures is probably just as difficult.

"Affordable Quality Lighting" is one that my company purchases from a lot.
In some of the smaller towns in California, I notice a lot of ranchers using wind energy with positive results. The initial cost is steep, but the long term effect is very good.
