Hi, My heat on my electric HVAC is not getting hot enough. If the refrigerant is low, would that affect the heat? Would low R22 cause the coils to freeze when using the heater?
FYI, it's not for the unit in my signature.
Thank you.
Yes you are absolutely correct!! The first thing I checked was the nameplate and it said exactly that! I just had to pull it apart & switch it from black-black & white-white for CCW to black-white & white-black for CW! :) All the other wires I had connected were correct according to the...
Thanks. I didn't even think to look at the label/nameplate. But it did get it to work and it sounds great! It's just not rotating in the right direction. It should turn CW but it is going CCW. This fan has the option to go both directions. Before I had cut off the shaft, I tested it to see if it...
HELP! LOL. My old fan had 3 wires Black, Orange & Purple. The new motor has 4 wires plus ground. Black, Purple, Brown & Brown with white stripe. The 2 brown have connectors but the black and purple do not. I am going to store to get the connectors for the 2 that don't have them. I am planning to...
OK! Thanks again. I am going to pick it up right now. Like i said, they didn't have the 7.5 mfd, 440 vac anyway. I just wasn't sure if I could connect the 2 different vac's together.
Ok I ordered the new fan motor & am getting ready to go pick it up. Please see previous post for CAP details because I ordered the 7.5 mfd, 440 vac but it apparently is backordered. I would like to install a new cap with the new fan can I use the 7.5 mfd, 370 vac with the compressor cap 50 mfd...
Hey thanks for remembering. The fan motor that I am purchasing from Grainger recommends a 7.5 MFD, 370 VAC but the compressor cap that is there now is 50 MFD, 440 VAC can those two work together or should I purchase 7.5 MFD, 440 for the new motor.
This is the motor I decided on...
OK, new update. It happened again. The fan stops spinning and there is a loud screeching sound and when I turn it off the screeching wines down slowly like the motor is spinning to a stop but the fan blade is not spinning, I am not sure if this has anything to do with it but both times the fan...
Ok, I just went outside to check it out. The fan motor was able to spin freely. I oiled the fan shaft again. I had an extra capacitor so I swapped it out, it's 7.5 MFD, 440 VAC (several yrs ago a tech replaced a dual w/2 singles). I turned it on and it started right up. There is cool air coming...
Hey Guys,
I haven't been here in a while, but it's good to see some familiar names!
I have a Lennox 10ACC−036−230, last night I noticed that the air coming out of the vents was a little warm & I also noticed a loud screeching sound coming from the unit outside. It also sounded...
First question is; When the fan is off, is it hard to turn the blades, if so try this first:
The solution that worked best for me this year was to open the top cover that the fan/motor is attached to, turn it over so the fan is upside down with the shaft pointing up and oil the shaft with a...
Thanks for the reply. My wife is more interested in how the unit looks, I, on the other hand, am more interested in the functionality of the fins. She wanted me to paint them so it looks better & I wanted to know if doing so would hinder the units efficiency.
As far as the air temperature...
Thanks CallMeVilla. I will check to see if the fins are protective or not & listen to the HandyGuys Podcast. Are you saying that if they are functional I should not paint them? I do believe they are functional. Here are the specs:
Condenser Coil;
Outer Coil Net face area - sq. ft. (m2) 11.41...
Hey kok328,
I recently posted a question about the fins on the outdoor unit of my A/C:

I was wondering if you could take a look & tell me what you think. You have been a great help to me in the past. I really respect...
