blower looks OK. One speed stinks when it runs (smells burned) but it does run. So I think the motor is shot and there is something else amiss (since the speed that is "burned" never gets to run...

You mean your furnace caught a "cold" and had drainage problems? -WOW!

I never noticed a gurgle but that doesn't mean it's not the problem. I had the thing off when I disassembled and cleaned up...

Already did all that. It has a new filter and I removed the ducts to let it run wide open. The limit switch still slowly rotates until it hits the upper limit and shuts down (then repeats the cycle)....
