solved my problem tonight... found one that had a more shallow inside and it works wonderful!

hey to kind of get back onto my original topic i went out today and bought some LED retro fit kits for my recessed lights in my downstairs here is the problem i am having is that the top of the LED is hitting inside the socket, and i cannot adjust the socket.

do i need to change dimmer switch if i put LED lights in?

any pics you can show me?

hey guys... currently having a bit of a hard time with some light bulbs. i have 6 in lights in my basement that i need to replace, they must be dimmable. Currently ive been using a par 30 sylvania 75W bulb. need to go to something that is uses alot less energy. any help?

covered it with 1/2" and for the underneath i am staining it.

well i won the argument and we cut out the blocking at the soffet vents, now since i picked the argument i have to come up with a solution on how to replace. so im asking you guys for some help! the roof has 1/2" ply on top we weathersheild the whole roof and shingled it.

nealtw- im a bit confused are you saying that the bracing for those joists are correct or incorrect? they are 14 ft long 2x8s and as for the blocking the venting to the roof, i agree im a bit confused ... i wasnt ready to say anything bc i dont have a better idea till i get someone to give me...

well guys i must admit my build is coming along very good, ive got 2 family friends that are carpentry tradesman that are helping me out. i have a few questions though 1st picture: the bracing in between the 2x8s i thought were a bit close... personally i thought they should of been about 2...

so the ones i have now what exactly is the problem with them? they will be sitting in cement filled sono tubes 6" above the ground.

how do i know if the saddles are galvanized or not? and how do i know how to look for the rating?

hey just looking for some answers here... im not exactly building a pergola but what i am building is basically a roof that goes 12 feet out so that i can have some shade in my backyard. my question is ive got the holes 4 feet deep each and am using sonotubes with cement, ive also purchased...

really cool rain diverter, i recently saw one of these installed at a home, went to lowes and home depot (keep in mind im from Canada) had no luck finding them! went to canadian tire and they have one made by a company called yardworks. could you share with me where you got yours?
