    Installing closet in existing room?

Alright.... that's an idea. I hadn't even considered something like that. That's why I come around here. Ideas that I would never think of. Thanks Neal.

I think I had to do something like this recently in my TV room remodel, but some pics would greatly help.

    Installing closet in existing room?

So sorry I've been dealing with some issues and haven't had a chance to work on the room. This weekend that changes. I've got some pictures. They start at the new egress and work their way around the room. You'll see a small indentation to the right of the window where I would have thought would...

    Installing closet in existing room?

Have any of you ever done this? I finished off a portion of our basement into a playroom for our kids. Now as they're getting older we're making it into a bedroom for one of the girls. We got an egress window put in and now I'm wondering if I shouldn't put in a closet. Thing is, I've never added...

    Mailbox Repair Cost

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Looks like a good bit of work and effort. Wonder if they set it deep in concrete or just plain ol' ground?

seal gap between siding and vents/meters?

That is if the installer put the siding on right. I see some really poor siding install jobs when I'm out and about with my job. Neal is right though, if you've got the house wrap behind the siding, the bugs aren't going anywhere. Also, that is channel that you're pointing out. It simply is...

    Building inspection timing regulations

Can you call your local building code dept and ask them? Then maybe that leads into the conversation that you've been waiting for your inspector and haven't heard anything....... Be polite. Don't piss off your inspector for your own good.

seal gap between siding and vents/meters?

If I'm not mistaken those are just channels that the siding slips into. I don't think the spiders are going to get anywhere but inside the channel and that's not a big deal. However if you really have your mind set: I'd use an outdoor worthy caulking and get to work. You're going to have A LOT...

Low water pressure and slimy build up in faucet screen

That's good advice there. I didn't even think about getting a test done. That should definitely be your first move.

    Sticking toilet handle??

Having the new flapper on hand is a great idea. I've mentioned before that I work for the water utility here and when that flapper starts letting water seep through your water bill is going to go through the roof.

    rusty water meter...

I work for our city's water utility. It's pretty common for that plate to rust. Call up the utility and ask them to come out and change it. Should be free (is in my city anyway).

    Water shutoff in wrong place

Man, I've said that more than a few times. My weekends turn into 12 hour work days. I gotta go back to work to get some rest.

    Blocked basement drain inaccessible

I had to do this a few months back. In fact had a friend here to help. Now that's friendship! The cleanout plug may be really tight. I had to use an 18" pipe wrench and all my ummph. As Villa said, for all that's holy, don't stand in front of the opening. Hahaha! Good luck!

    Water shutoff in wrong place

In our area if I come out to shut your water off (I work for the water utility) and the curb stop breaks the owner has to pay to repair it. Just an FYI and something to check into before you have the utility operate it. If that's not a concern, then I totally agree, cut in a ball valve where...
