NO HEATER at all yet; Tiny Log Cabin.. the options are?

Thanks for the info. Good point on the thermal mass. A radiant heater of some type might be good on top of an LP type as a fill in to get that mass warmed to help maintain the heat more efficiently.

    Under floor board storage, bed??

course on the same lines...... a trap door to reach the crawl space for maintenance would be a nice feature. Easier than crawling under thru tiny opening outside.

    Under floor board storage, bed??

Pier and beam home. Drop things under the floor boards for max space use in a tiny almost Micro home. What is your thoughts? How would one construct this? Prevent moisture issues?? Small storage between floor joist...... not so hard to figure out...... but a . bed? . bathtub? . Washing...

    Tankless water heaters

Add a solar water heating unit to add heat to stored water? The in line would then only be needed to bring it up to max temp if it is not there already? Would not save space except you could lay the water storage tank down horizontal. Would save on $$$ IMHO

    floor vent for wood stove

sounds like inefficient chimney draft on the wood stove allowing for smoke to get into the room. How long has it been since you cleaned the chimney?

NO HEATER at all yet; Tiny Log Cabin.. the options are?

This is a tiny log cabin with 12x16 foot of total space. 4" thick logs so it should have a nice R value total. It was built to be moved by truck so it is on 1/2 a mobile home chassis. The plastic lining and insulation below the floor needs redoing so that opens the option of Radiant floor...

Additional good info in this one. Had not seen it yet. Thanks. Actually the link inside the article was more informative: http://cottagedreamers.blogspot.com/2010/02/we-started-our-shower-surround-project.html?showComment=1381021021747#c4145658238947137872

do I have 220 and how can I tap it best?

While it has an electric cook top now........ I did consider swapping to a LP unit. I was given an LP unit w/stove that needs repair. Presently there is an apartment sized fridge under cook top but could move this over onto counter on other side you don't have to stoop ...... which would open...

    Corrugated roofing on walls bathroom

Budget is not fitting anything fancy...... it is either grungy looking old corrugated metal (for cost and aesthetics) or new stuff which does sit in the price range. Anything fancier AKA powder coated etc. is not in the price range. you speak true Kemosabe. I'm open to suggestions. One thought...

do I have 220 and how can I tap it best?

Have not decided on heat for the RV/Cabin. There is nothing installed for heating yet. Window AC unit for cooling. 4" thick solid logs gives it a damn good R-factor insulation which helps both. If I was living in there; it would get an outdoor Wood heat- indoor (underfloor?) radiator system...

do I have 220 and how can I tap it best?

Barn is probably 4 to 5 years away. Cabin/RV is January 2014. I HAVE to move it from where it sits in TX by Jan. 1. Septic was redone also and I was told it was also oversized for future growth. I believe code requires all new sceptics installed to meet the standard of a "single FAMILY home"...

do I have 220 and how can I tap it best?

Yep and getting those answers is convoluted. How far away is also dictated by sewer. separate power....... that is also dictated by TAXES. The more Install like it is a permanent thing direct wired and not "plugged in"........ the more my property taxes go up cause it becomes a fixed part of...

do I have 220 and how can I tap it best?

That fills in the missing link which was fuelling my brain farts. Makes ton more since now. So is the odd numbers in the breaker box feed from one of the two hot powerlines and the evens the other thus allowing for connecting two neighbouring breakers together to once again have 220/240v to...

    Corrugated roofing on walls bathroom

Yes thank you. Have read that one before along with others. That one brought up a good point of clear coating the corrugated sheets. A tiny few of the others which seemed to be more "knowledgeable" discussions and not "articles" about how nice it looks.... are the ones that brought up the...
