    replacing plug fuse

The market is pretty nuts here. The seller holds the most power as all types of buyers are coming in: all cash, no contingency, etc. I got lucky where most of my stuff was ok. The home inspector did note that the fuse rating is low by current standards, but par for my block. I guess I'm going to...

    replacing plug fuse

Thanks for the info. Ok, guess looks like it's going to be a contracted/major infrastructure upgrade. Hmm, maybe time to move. But my take away is that this isn't a simple "short the box" fix isn't the way to go.

    replacing plug fuse

There is no main breaker in the breaker panel. I want to take the fuse box out of the equation because I don't want to routinely replace fuses. I started blowing fuses one day and it became a hassle to replace them. I prefer to have the breaker trip, which can be reset, vs having to buy and...

    replacing plug fuse

Pretty sure I have 10 AWG wire coming from the street. Would have to go home and measure the core wire. I white out the account info. That does you no good. The line comes from the street, under my lawn, into my garage via a pipe and up to the fuse box that you see. Then it takes a turn...

attaching cat6 ethernet cable to joists

I'm confused by your post. Cat6a has higher specs so you can run 10GE at the same lengths as Cat5/5e. Was there something else I missed?

attaching cat6 ethernet cable to joists

I'm running new cat6 cable under my house / in a crawlspace. I don't want the cables dangling like a massive jumprope. I see that the power / rg6 lines are stapled to the joists. What should I use to attach the cat6 cable to the joists? I was thinking a staple gun would apply too much...

    replacing plug fuse

Been a while, but here's my setup. I have a fuse box that feeds the circuit breaker.

    replacing plug fuse

I have a circuit breaker that is fed by a fuse box that is fed by a power line from PG&E. Not sure why the previous homeowner kept the fuse box when installing the circuit breaker, but it's there. I'm looking to short the fuse box by replacing the plug fuses with shorts. I could run wires to...

    Purpose of neutral wire?

Nope, this is a bathroom fan. It's the matching sensor for their bathroom fan.

Bad experiences with Panasonic FV-WCCS1-W WhisperControl Three-Function On/Off Switch

Apparently this Cadillac of light switches is a dud.

    Purpose of neutral wire?

So is there fancy internals in the switch that choose where to run the current? Out on the ground line vs the neutral line? Any reason other appliances don't require such a fancy switch?

    Purpose of neutral wire?

This Panasonic switch is for the Panasonic condensation fan that does not have a light. The button on the front is to manually activate the condensation fan.

Bad experiences with Panasonic FV-WCCS1-W WhisperControl Three-Function On/Off Switch

Has anyone else heard of a problem with this model?

    Purpose of neutral wire?

Thanks, Wuzzat?, you're the only guy to answer my question. I thought all current flowed from the higher voltage to lower voltage lines (red and black) as the voltage oscillates. I thought the ground wire would draw any current that might not transfer to the lower voltage line. In that case...

    Purpose of neutral wire?

The Panasonic switch comes with 4 wires. 3 are soldered to the PCB inside the switch, 1 is screwed to the metal plate which screws to the junction box. 3 soldered wires: Red - Live, understand what this does. Black - Live, understand what this does. White - Labeled as neutral. What does...

Bad experiences with Panasonic FV-WCCS1-W WhisperControl Three-Function On/Off Switch

I bought this $50 switch with the expectation it would last a few years. Within the first month, the blue LED stopped working. Now 9 months in, the manual switch no longer works. Has anyone else see premature failures? Any know a way to get this covered under a warranty?

    Purpose of neutral wire?

I am replacing a Panasonic FV-WCCS1-W WhisperControl Three-Function On/Off Switch that recently stopped working. I intended to use a Leviton single pole light switch but noticed it lacked a neutral wire. Here's what I think I know: Red wire - positive voltage Black wire - negative voltage...

Help Identifying A Leaky Kitchen Faucet

Alright, I got it fixed. Turns out there was a faulty o-ring that sits on the piston. The caliper measure the inner diameter of the o-ring to be 1/4 in. and I forgot the outer diameter. The pain was assembling the handle properly so that water didn't shoot out from all the possible openings.
