    They need to be replaced because the ones that the builder installed were pretty bland and basic. I want something a little taller and a bit more stylish. Maybe you guys are right about doing it myself. It is baseboard and the cuts are pretty basic, after all. What tools would you guys...

    Thanks, Neal. next step is to replace all the baseboards. I want to sub that out as I want it to be perfect and my finish skills are far from that.

    Almost done laying this floor. It's around 800 sqft. I gotta tell ya, I have a whole new respect for people who do this for a living. I'm happy to be at work today where I can relax!

    Hobbies other than home repair.

    I mess around with my '67 GTO. I've had it for 7 years. It was my Dad's car since '91. It's a decent driver but will never be done! Also, because of this hobby, I've become an avid tool collector.

    Just signed up today. Cool site! My house is 10 years old and getting to the point of needing refreshing. I just started replacing floors. I do most of the house/car repairs myself. Have the old contractor grade carpet and glue down tile torn up and will be replacing it with a laminate...
