    Rheem XP29T06EC30U1 water heater broken

This water heater was installed in our mobile home by the previous owner. It suddenly just stopped heating water recently. So I was looking at the manual, and says on there that this model must not be installed in a mobile home, but doesn't say why. I called the Rheem technical support dept...

Oven is leaking CO like crazy

The oven has a problem, and we have to wait few days to hear from the repairman. My mother intends to use it anyway, even though I bought a CO meter and checked the oven. I found that the CO level went to over 100 ppm very quickly - after turning it on. If she tries to cook, it is likely to...

Gas Oven putting out too much heat.

I'm cooking chicken in there right now, and there is a wave of heat coming out of it. I put a chair in front of it, and put a digital room thermometer on it. It was about 88 degrees in my bedroom. Four feet from the oven, it's at 96 degrees. Even when it's off, the air inside the oven is...

It's right at the end of the cycle, right when the machine is trying to slow the spinning down. Is it dying?

Particle board in kitchen cabinet will not dry

I recently had a handyman unclog a kitchen pipe, and he failed to use a any kind of bucket while doing so. He got both water and chemicals all over the particle board. He cleaned it up, but one particular spot got really damaged. It became discolored and swelled. I don't think mold is a...

does my ceiling really need to be damaged in order to remove wet insulation?

Hello, recently we had flooding in our condo due to bad plumbing in the condo over us. The water came through the ceiling fan. A few days later I called a water damage remediation company. By that time the ceiling around the fan had hardened again, and it looked fine to me. The fan is fine now...

Need to glue floorboard back in place.

I'm going to use wood glue, but I don't see how I can use any kind of clamp to hold to the wall while the glue dries. What should I do, to keep it pressed against the wall until the glue dries? Thank you!

Calcified nut on shut off valve

Hi all, I want to replace the shut-off valve under the kitchen sink. I can't loosen the main nut that connects the old v ale to the pipe, because it's all too calcified. There's a buildup of hardened calcified gunk on it. How can I loosen it? Thanks!

    Thermostat has blinking light

The AC and the heat both work, but the thermostat has this long slow blinking light. It's a really old fashioned one, nothing digital on it. Could it just be a battery?

Can't get snake all the way into toilet

I have two toilets, one is clogged. I have a cheap quality snake. I could get the snake all the way into the working toilet, no problem. On the clogged one, I can get it about half way in, but that does not unclog it. I tried putting dish soap and hot tap water in, before putting the snake...

Rubber stuck to linoleum on bathroom floor

Hi, I put this second-hand bathroom rug on the floor, and when I decided it was done for, I found that the rubber backing had stuck to the floor. A lot of it. I never applied heat to the rug, or water. How can I get it off the linoleum? Thanks for your thoughts!

Neighbor's waste water backing up into my condo

Hi all, At least that is what I think is happening. My kitchen sink is clogged, and so was his. A couple days ago, he had a plumber come out snake it. Right after that happened, our kitchen sink filled up with hot water full of nasty food bits, which we had to immediately drain by hand...

    Can't remove broken shower cartridge

Hi, I have a mixet mxt07 shower cartridge installed, in my shower. While trying to remove it, it broke apart. The back end stayed in the pipe, and the white plastic cover and central post came out - basically the whole front end. I noticed a Cartridge Puller for Moen cartridges at Lowes...
