I'm buying a house and after the inspection, the main beam in the crawl space had some damage. The inspection quoted, "9.3 MAIN BEAM(S)
The main beam has been damaged and supported by a floor jack. Recommend evaluation by a qualified contractor for remedial needs and costs. 09/08/2015 - Recommend obtaining contractors information for possible remedial needs. Item 2(Picture)" They corrected the issue and as you can see from the notes it didn't come back "satisfactory" necessarily. The fix was from a general contractor and was described as, "Fix- Properly supported main beam in crawlspace using concrete footer and foundation post". I've attached before/after pictures (the before has the redbox). I'm seeing if any experts could lend an opinion on the fix. The last thing we want is our floors dropping below us haha. Please let me know if I have nothing to worry about now Thanks!
