Hi, I have a stucco house. the porch lite was installed too close to the corner when the house was built to allow anything but a very narrow lite to be affixed to the electrical box. I want to move the electrical box so that it is more centered on the stucco wall to allow for me to install any size outdoor porch lite. Is this a job I can do myself? I think I just need to break away the stucco and mesh but I'm not sure if there is a stud in the area where I want to relocate the box. any suggestions? thanks

Outside lites like you have are a shallow box just 3/4 " deep you just screw it on the sheeting but you have to feed the wire in the back thru the sheeting and if your old box is a shallow one I don't think you are allowed to use it for a junction box.
