We bought some weekend property with a really ugly house. It is a cross between a gambrel roof (dutch colonial) and a mansford. It has recessed dormers. But the absolute worst part is the bricks. They are shiny white glazed brick. They remind me of an industrial building or maybe even an old McDonalds. The house is a huge 5000 sq feet (perfect rectangal) and I think the size and shape even makes the house uglier.
I don't think paint will adhere to shiny glazed bricks. We have actually talked about covering the bricks with wood. (maybe rough cut lumber/)
Anyone have any ideas what to do with ugly?
Thanks
