When I remodeled my house, I put a couple of sets of track lighting in the basement. They're attached to the ceiling and I wired them into a couple of wall switches. They worked great at first, but I kept having to replace bulbs every couple of months. I don't leave them on constantly and now I think some of the sockets are burnt out. Its been a while since I put them up and I'm wondering if I should replace them or if I messed up the install and can get by doing something less expensive.

Basement lights are notorious for burning out fast. It's from the vibration from upstairs traffic.

Track lighting would have been about the last thing I would choose for a basement.

Replace the bulbs with fan duty bulbs.
I would have gone with can lights not track lights.
What to have them point at a picture or a wall just add eye ball trim rings.
