I have a 1 yr old house, has Anderson Windows in the basement, side sliding. Is there a way to remove the 'fixed' side of the window?? I need to get drywall in to the basement, 54" wide drywall and the only way would be to get both sides of the window glass out.

Thanks in advance.

John

Might be easier to just pull the whole window frame and all.

This might be a crazy question, but, If you have that large of a window how much earth would you have to remove to allow a door for entry. Not sure if that’s possible. I know I would love to figure out a way to have outside access to my basement. Once it is done would make it much safer also to have an egress point.

It would be another 4 ft of dirt to move. If I could do it over I'd have a straight stair from garage to basement with 9 foot ceiling.... live and learn i guess.
