I just installed a new sink, faucet, plumbing, flanges, strainers, disposal, the works. First time ever doing something like that, and I've made some mistakes.

After I installed the disposal I realized that the flange was not seated in the sink hole entirely flat. As a result, the disposal tilts slightly so that the water runs downhill and points downward. I might redo it, but I used silicone caulk to seal it and it would be a mess trying to remove it.

Is there a problem leaving it like this? I'm not concerned about leaks. I'm just worried that the disposal would be off balance or it might vibrate more or something like that.

Why did you use silicone? Plumber's putty is your friend.

As they say, do it right the first time and you won't have to do it again.

Silicone is best applied 20' deep in a landfill, unopened.

The results are common when tightening the disposal flange unevenly, but should not affect its operation.

Thank you Snoonyb that helps.

If anyone else has any things to look out for that might go wrong, concerning the disposal tilt, any advice would be appreciated.

take it apart, scrap off the silly cone and use plumbers putty
reinstall it correctly
it is going to leak, if it is crooked it is on the ridge
