In memory of
On Memorial Day we take time for the first summer holiday of the year. Back yard picnics, vacations, fireworks, swimming pools. How lucky we are to live in a society where we are able to do, pretty much anything we want, say anything we want, go anywhere we want. We often forget what Memorial Day is all about.
Many have given their lives so we can enjoy the many freedoms we enjoy. I hope we can horror the sacrifices they made, the sacrifices their families made so we can continue to live in this great nation. Honoring their memory is Memorial Day. This weekend I'll pause in a quiet moment and give thanks to their spirit, remembering all who gave the ultimate sacrifice and pray that their gift to us doesn't go without notice.
