I would like to remodel my basement bedrooms into more livable space. I took off the suspended ceiling (room height was under 7 feet) and discovered the ceiling beneath is festooned with ducts going every direction and loose wiring. An electrician can no doubt hide the wiring, but I need to reroute the ducting so there is some clear ceiling space. Our ducts are the 60 year old monsters that came with the house--is there a new product that would let me reroute the ducts around the perimeter of the room and enclose them in a soffit?
We have an electric furnace. Many thanks!

Hello Dpedsea:
Yes you could run galvanized, insulated pipe around the perimeter,OR if your furnace is centrally located, you could simply mount a new plenum with outlets around it, which would be more effective.
