At 2 places water is coming down between the wood and the gutter going across. There is no rain drip and was wondering if I should try to put one on? If so how is the best way to put one on and remove the gutter while on a ladder? thanks

I would suggest using a drip edge like Joe posted. You should be able to slide it under the shingles with out removing the gutter. If you can't hold the shingle and starter shingle up at the same time to nail it, try using a drill with a magnetic tip and some short deck screws. Be careful that the shingles are not brittle and crack. You could put some dabs of roof cement under the shingles to hold the drip edge if they won't bend without cracking.

May not be the approved installation method, but it will save making a bad situation worse.

The roof on the deck is metal. What about the sides where no gutter is at

You should still be able to remove the screws at the bottom of the metal panels and slide a drip edge in along the bottom sdge, then reinstall the screws.

Along the rake edge, the is a metal edge detail that secures on the top and turns down over the edge. What type of panel is it? Can you post a pic?
