Anybody have any cool basement ceiling ideas rather than just a plain old drop ceiling? Pictures or thoughts?

We considered putting up translucent tarps stretched between some sort of cabling, lights up above shining through the tarps. Also considered stained or painted plywood squares held on a wood grid - kinda like a tray (?) ceiling, still allowing access to all the stuff above.
Haven't followed through on anything yet. I look forward to the ideas other folks post here
