Hello All:

The thermostat on my water heater, a Rheem Guardian, does not work properly. As soon as I turn it to "warm" and beyond the water is super hot.

Is it possible to:

a- Repair these thermostats?
b- If not repairable, can they be replaced?

Thanks,

Al

The thermostat is not repairable but they are replaceable, on gas or electric.
Find a dealer in your area, make sure you take the model and serial #'s with you.

I talked to Rheem. Apperantly some components are covered longer than one year. They wanted a serial number as you suggested.

I am not able to find this.

Is it on the big label glued on to the body of the heater? If so, it is partially covered by a strap, I have to remove it temporarily. Before taking the effort to do this, I thought I should ask where it would be...

Thanks
