We just purchased and installed a cheap Bootz steel / porcelain tub. Despite our best efforts to protect it while working around it we've discovered about five very small nicks in the porcelain finish that are the size of a pin head.
Two questions:
1: Will these nicks rust and grow?
2: Are these tubs so low quality that they'll just be nick-prone and need replacing in a couple years?
We have a dog that we plan on bathing in it. We chose a porcelain/steel over an acrylic tub because we heard the acrylics scratch more easily. Now we're not sure of our decision.
It's not tiled in yet, but would prefer to not go through reinstalling a new tub. The nicks aren't noticeable, we just don't want to tile our way into a problem.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
