Question about a very noisy furnace as you can see from the video link. The HVAC repair person said they changed the vent blower and blower motor but the noise is still there after the new equipment. He came back to see what was causing the noise but could not figure it out after looking at it for an hour. Any ideas of what is making this so noisy? You can hear it two levels up. Part of video has the sound one level up right above the furnace and it is pretty noisy. Seems to happen as it warms up and then when the burner turns off the sound stops as can be heard at the end of the clip. Gets really noisy after about a minute on the video.

It will be less noisy with the cover on (obviously). Is it causing vibrations in the floor (the ceiling above it)? It could be the surrounding structure is amplifying the sound or at least transmitting it upwards.
You may be able to slip a little thin insulation into the housing, which might muffle the sound a little. Attached to the metal panels - of course. You could also insulate the the joists above it to cut the sound transmission

Thanks for your reply. Seems like the sound is coming from in the unit and starts getting louder when the flame is on full? I am not an HVAC expert so my descriptions may not be the best. Have someone else coming to look at it today. Will see if they can figure it out.

They swapped one of the motors they had changed earlier but the noise was still there. His next thought was something with the heat exchanger which they will swap out.
