We are in the process of purchasing a villa in Boca that is fully carpeted. We want to have the carpeting removed and replaced with a surface that will not cause anyone to slip and fall easily.
Nearly all of the other villas have tile flooring and although we love the clean look, we do not want to have slippery floors.
The floor under the carpeting is concrete.
I am looking at slate tiles online but those seem comparatively expensive.
What type of flooring would work for us?

Also we will probably be changing the h-vac system and having the ducts cleaned as well. Should the floor go in first?

Do any repair work first, why have the ducts cleaned then just have them suck up all the dust and dust?
Not a fan of slate, to porous and brittle.
There's lots of floor tiles that have matte finish so there not as slippery, go to a real flooring store not the box store.

All heavy build and dusty work gets done before finishes. A rule of life in construction.

Moisture is a problem in Boca. Ordinarily, I would prefer wood, not click-down laminate, for traction and beauty. Polished stone or tile might be too slippery for you but there are tiles which have patterns which afford grip. We recently used these in a master bath and the wetness is no problem. If you set it with a slightly widergrout line, you will get a more rustic look PLUS you will get better grip because grout is not slippery.

You actually can find those kinds of tiles at Home Depot. You can get great design options at a flooring store but prices are higher.
