We just bought a new home and installed laminate flooring. We are having a problem at the doorways. The T-molding is only 2 inches wide, and at a few of the doors the gap between the laminate and the carpet and tile is over 2 inches wide. We can't find T-molding that is any wider or that will cover it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We are exhausted and need some ideas!! Thanks!

Are you looking at the side of the laminate or the end of the boards.
You could make you own out of a piece of matching hardwood.

A picture would help. Carpeting should be to the midline of the door opening so the t-mold and carpet are covered by the door when it is closed. You could rip a piece of the laminate to place it in the threshold then install standard t-mold. This will require face nailing because the tongue (or groove) will be cut off. Color matching the stain on a fresh threshold piece will be difficult if not impossible.

Here's a pic. This is me pulling up the end of the carpet.

Just did some measurements. This gap is exactly 2 inches. When we ordered the T-molding it says it is 2 inches wide, but when you measure it is just over 1 1/2 inches. Which is why we were not worried about these gaps at first.

The laminate was installed wrong. It should have started closer to the carpet. An the door casings should have been undercut.
