Up here we need all the venting to the outside we can get, new houses have a hallway vent hooked up to a humidistat because the are so tight.

Gas stove here and no vent. I made it 60 years with gas stoves and no vents. That’s the beauty of 100 + yr old homes they have natural venting everyplace. Very healthy to not be sealed up like spam in a can.
