The tub spout fell off, but when we tried to replace it, we found that the threads are too worn or possibly to big at the end to screw the spout on. Other spouts with O rings all fit 3/4" pipes, but our pipe is 1" in diameter. We are unable to take this pipe off and replace it with a smaller pipe because we cant unscrew it from the wall without damaging the copper pipe it is connected to.
Any creative solutions out there? Any way to insert a larger O ring inside the spout? If so, what would the procedure be?
