water exiting from spout drain

I have just installed a slip-on spout with a diverter in a shower and there a very small amount of water that is going out from the little drain hole underneath the spout when the water pressure is at the maximum level. Is it normal and part of the normal operation of the spout or if it is a leak from the copper pipe?

Did you damage or misshape the pipe when you worked on it?

I remember that had a thread about removing it. Did it turn out to be a thread-on or a slip-on? And what kind did you replace it with?
