Hi everyone.

Just wondering how long I should expect red tape to last if it's used outdoors as shown in the picture... I will build a deck there which will hide the tape from most of the direct sunlight.

Thanks a lot.

red tape will last just as long as you let them sit in office and and not have term limits.

oh oh..sorry, you were talking about a different kind of red tape.

If that will be out of site just slide some sheetmetal up behind the siding, a little sticky goop between old and new and call it a day.

Thanks Neal!

There is a different spot on the wall where there are screw heads on the sheet metal.

Not sure if I’m worrying too much, but if I do the same thing, wouldn’t that make it difficult to remove the sheet metal in the future, if ever needed? The new piece is glued on top of the old piece, and the screw heads on the old piece are hidden behind the new piece…

Also, now I think of it, in this section of the wall, there are no screw heads on top of the sheet metal that I can see. Not sure how teh sheet metal is held in place? Maybe the screws are hidden behind the siding?

Cheers,

Paul

Ya it will be nailed up under the siding. Actually it is not hard to pop the siding at the bottom and just replace the flashing or better yet just replace it with siding.
