So i have a 1.5 story house and the roof is apparently leaking where the second story and the 1st story meet. IT leaks right above my kitchen sink where they join. per the roofing company the leak is further up the roof where the two sections join.

I cut away the drywall that was bulging from the wall and it doesnt look to bad on the inside there. there was a bit of mold on the drywall paper but the insulation still looks white. The wood frame has some discoloration and looks dirty.

What steps should i take to clean this up as it doesn't look to bad. I planning to bleach the wood some to kill anything on it and then possibly seal it back up once the roof is fixed. Any other suggestions? There are no leaks anywhere else i can see.

Welcome to the site.
Wash the wood down with water and detergent, Be sure it is dry before covering it up again.

No location in your profile, no pictures, anyone's guess what needs to be done.
Anyone figured out where the leak is?
