Hello,

Looking to have a 4x4 post to support a 5 ft high, 4 ft wide wood gate.

What is the preferred method of installing a wood post. I read that placing gravel for the bottom and then using a pressured treated wood along with concrete. Then make sure the concrete is slanted away from the post. Can somebody confirm?

Also read that using a foam base is a good replacement but I don't know how secure for holding up a gate.

Thanks.
In all those I have sunk, off of Chapman and the 55, they have been in a 12" dia. hole, in the manner you've illustrated, 3' deep.

Soap, mom said "you come drip-dry in the package".
