Ugh, I thought I was being 'smart' by mixing sand into my paint for the front steps to create a non-skid effect. It was great for a year or so, until the paint needed to be refreshed. When I painted over it with regular latex paint (minus the sand this time), it began peeling up, with perforation marks where the sand granules were. And when it would rain, it would cause those paint chips to 'stick' to the white risers, looking really ugly.
Anyone know what I can do to paint over this stuff and make it stick, short of sanding the whole thing down? Would it help if the new batch of paint also had sand mixed in? Any help much appreciated.
