I'm looking for suggestions on how to utilize the space under a floor-to-be for storage.
Most of my house is built over a crawlspace, there is a Den room down on grade that we'd like to raise to the level of the main house. It'd be nice to be able to utilize that, already dry space for storage with a system of suspension like is used for computer flooring, or sole boards over boat bilges, where panels can be lifted to expose the area underneath for storage.
I can conceive of T&G mounted to precut subfloor panels, but I'm thinking it could be awkward if I'm restricted to standard floor joist spacing. Has anyone worked on a project like this before?
I'd appreciate any ideas.
