Hi all,
I have four exterior venting ducts for dryer, bathroom vent, rangehood and the forth one I'm not sure (suggestions?). My question is can I reduce the number of exterior vents from 4 to 2, or even 1?
I have access to the ducts where they fit into the vents and would like to merge them so that I'm left with 1 or 2 vents.

Thanks,
Matt

I don't know about code, but I have seen homes when vents are to close together and you could smell the dryer in the bathroom unless that fan was running too.

Yea, I thought about that. Can't I install a valve so that back flow doesn't occur?

Yes you could do that but then you will close it in a wall or above the ceiling where it can not be serviced. Sooner or later you will have to clean the dryer pipe, this is done with a vacume and airhose fed from outside, now you vent is a problem. I would still use different pipes thru the outside wall. Done properly they will not leak.
