Default Remodeling vs hiring a contractor?

How difficult is it to renovate a pool on my own in comparison to hiring a outside contractor? I moved into a new home a while back, and never got around to remodeling the pool in the backyard. I decided to start recently, but was wondering how much effort it would take in comparison to the cost. I don't know how to determine which is a good contractor. Also, do pool contractors generally give estimates? Thanks in advance!

Welcome; Depending on how extensive your remodel is and your experience it may be a DIY job. A good contractor will come with picture of other jobs and recommendations from other customers and give you a full scope of the job including prices.
