Default How long does oil-based house paint last?

If it was opened and used only once or if it was never opened, how long can a can of well-sealed paint stored away in a dark, cool environment last?

I recently used some from a a half full quart can that I had around for at least a dozen years. After removing the skin from the top, adding a bit of thinner, then stirring well, it was fine.
