Default Prepping for new siding

Have engaged contractor to reside house within the next couple of months, or next spring if weather does not cooperate. I just replaced a couple of windows with vinyls for new construction (I removed some of the old siding to access the framing). Is there anything I need to do to keep damage at bay while I await the builder?

I hope you had sheeting behind the siding, not just framing. You can make it sorta waterproof with housewrap.
