Thanks for the welcome.
I am looking for info on boiler vs. forced air heating system's.
And mold removal.
 
If the mold is saturating the material it should be removed and replaced. If it is ON the material it can be scraped down and treated with a bleach solution. I know, that sounds over simplified but if you have to do the first option there ain't nothin' easy about it.

Mold on indoor building materials should be removed by a professional remediation contractor. Be careful with the bleach. Mold is hydrophobic. Bleach is a great biocide but contains water. If you "spray" bleach on visible mold, you can push mold spores into the air.

Mold removal isn't complicated. But it should be done under negative air containment to prevent cross contamination.
