Default crack in wall.

I have a 10 year wood framed house. Above the center of one window there is a crack in the drywall that leads up to the ceiling which is about 4 feet. Is this something I need to worry about or does this sound like normal settling?

Default Crack in wall

Hello, No need to worry, very common. Settling has picked the weakest points and that is one of them.(over/under doors & windows) This is very common. Dig out all old spackling and tape, re-tape with paper tape, fill and finish with Durabond45. Sand and finish, paint and your back in business. hope this helps.GregC
