Default What is the technical name for the horizontal piece of trim on a Victorian home?

What is the technical name for the horizontal piece of trim that wraps around the exterior of a Victorian home. It is usually about 3-4ft off the ground and sticks out about 4-5in and has a rounded edge at slightly slants downward. Sometimes referred to as a "bellyband". Also, how is this piece of trim usually attached? Thanks

Sure, bellyband, friezeboard, waterboard, watertable, rail, wood entablature, and beltline, there are all kinds of names, depends on where you live.
usually nailed on with long trim nails at the top and bottom, sometimes angled in so they do not pull out, This is called stich nailing.
