Default CORRECT way to measure for Replacement Windows?

My thought was to remove the trim and measure the window itself. But as I am writing this I can not remember if there is interior trim. In that case would I just measure the interior of the window opening? NEED to make sure I get this right!! LOL Don't want windows that don't work!

Thank You
