Decking cost

I am wanting to have built a 30 square metre deck, details as follows:

– Free standing
– On level stable ground
– Minimum legal level above the ground
– Made out of merbau
– No roof
– Just a 5 X 6 metre rectangle
– Not in a high fire risk area
– No balistrade

I have been quoted $16000 for this. Is this reasonable? Seems a bit high for me.
I found postings in this forum from 2013 that indicated $240 per square metre installed, which is only $7200. So maybe $10000 – $12000 in 2016 prices.

Nowhere near enough information for anybody here to provide a meaningful opinion.

Get three quotes, then you have a better reference.
