Hi All,

Looking for some advice. A few years ago I treated my wood deck with Cabot's solid color water repellent.
The color has faded and/or disappeared. Now when I attempt to re-color it; it repels the stain.
I was wondering what I can do to make the wood accept a new coat of water repellent stain?
I did the deck boards, spindles, hand rails basically the entire deck so the solution needs to be as little labor intensive as possible (sanding was mentioned but, as noted above, too labor intensive).

I'd suggest going to a PPG or Sherwin-Williams store and tell the guys there the issue you're having. They will reccomend a product that should solve your issue. The products you get at the Big Box Stores are not the same quality as what you get from the brick and mortar places.
