Small Flowerbed Retaining Wall drainage needed?

Along the pool fence I want to put a flowerbed. In the pictures you can see where I threw 3 blueberry bushes in. Well, now the grass is basically growing straight up and holding the plants in the hillside. A heavy wind will probably make them topple over. I am thinking about putting a flowerbed...

Anchor a gazebo without drilling into concrete

Thanks for the advice! So I ended up letting him have his way. We used HEAVY concrete planters, filled with concrete and topped with river rock. Guessing around 150 pounds on each leg. It stormed the other day - Super storm winds and rain from every direction and hail... I ran out and closed the...

Anchor a gazebo without drilling into concrete

This is the Gazebo. Its from Lowes. Steel frame with 3 inch square legs. Its not meant to be a permanent structure, but most people bolt it down and leave it up all year. I've seen some around here where they take the canvas roof off in the winter.

Anchor a gazebo without drilling into concrete

BTW after looking closer at the gazebo roof does have a vent. Not sure how well it works, but that would help relieve the pressure. Plus the canvas roof does come off. I (he) could take the canvas in down in the winter and just leave the frame up. Either way roof on or not, It needs drilled...

Anchor a gazebo without drilling into concrete

I used the link to the formula and came up with Area 120 x Wind Pressure 2.304 x drag 2.0= 552.96 / 4 legs =138.24 pounds per leg... not including uplift and wind vibration. Now, I am absolutely convinced that he must drill into the concrete and put those 4 bolts per leg into that beautiful...

Anchor a gazebo without drilling into concrete

We have a 10x12 canvas top gazebo with a steel frame. My husband refuses to drill into the newly pour concrete slab. I was thinking we could anchor it down by using 35 pound concrete planters filled with play sand and river rock, and topping it with 3 inch think flagstone pieces. Maybe even...

Help. Installing fence jump up a retaining wall?

Code states looking from the outside of the pool in the fence has to be 4 foot tall around the entire pool. So my understanding the hillside fence will need to be on an very steep angle or stepped up the hillside. Not sure how to accomplish that with the panels. Your sort of right about the...

Help. Installing fence jump up a retaining wall?

Not sure how to make the elevation change with the fence. Using 4 ft aluminum panel fence all around. Fence will attach to house with a gate over side walk. Then it will need to jump up hillside and go behind the retaining wall. Not sure how to make the elevation change with the fence...

Help water at base of exterior wall under framing

I need help! Possible leak coming between slab foundation and sill plate. I removed the baseboard and I can see the tiny bit of water seeping in. The area is above grade but the foundation does extend 4-5 inches beyond the house wall framing. (It looks like they were going to add brick to...
