I am building a small shed. walls are 7' 6" x 16'.
The roof made from OSB must be larger.
Is there some dimensions that are better so that one will never need to cut a tile to fit?
Is there some standard as to what the best dimensions are for a roof, the OSB, for the easiest tile roof fit?
Are H-clips intended only for the roof and not for side shealthing?
I read that they are for both so I intended to use them for both the sides and the roof.
I had wanted to use 14.5" long 2x4 spacers to attach shealthing at 48" intervals, but changed my mind as the H-clips are easier and...
I have never seen true 1/2 inch plywood or OSB at HD or anywhere.
Only MDF or particle board is true dimension thickness, ie nominal and actual are the same.
At HD, it says 7/16 OSB.
I don't have to match any existing stud, but I may have to cut the OSB sheet to get it to fit.
92.25 + 4.5 = 92.75.
The heel cut of bird's month is usually greater than 0.75". For a gentle slope of 15% the heel is about 0.9 inches.
Thanks
I have decided to not use wedge expansion anchor and to use L shape cast in bolts.
0.5 inch and 6 inches long. I will leave 2.25 inch up. I figure 1.5 inch for the PT 2x4 leaving 0.75 inch for the nut and washer.
I just realize that may be pouring in just a small amount of epoxy, as little has half a teaspoonful, into the anchor hole and then tighten will greatly strengthen the bolts. It won't loosen.
New slab for a small 7.5'X16' shed but in a windy area.
The slab will be 4" thick with many rebars.
I will be using PT 2x4 as sills.
Shed roof with combined rafter/ceiling joists in the same piece of 2x4.
Two bird's mouth cuts on each rafter/ceiling, the span of the two bird's...
Can I simply place expansion anchor bolt into the concrete before it sets?
Do I have to drill on the concrete after it is set?
Or is it best to insert slightly small diameter rod, say 7/16, and just drill slightly to 1/2 inch for 1/2 inch anchor bolts.
I am talking about the type of...
When I attach studs to the PT lumber sill on top of concrete, can I use my nail gun with ordinary 3 1/2 inch nails, or are special screws for PT lumber needed?
I believe it is usual to hammer nails in directly from the end, ie going directly thru the sill plate, not toe-in slanted. Am I...
How deep does the Rototiller dig?
I do not like renting because I like to meter out chores slowly to ease the body.
I plan to buy something at Craigslist and sell it later if I want to.
If the whole slab is too large for one man in one day, will it be possible to divide the whole slab into sections.
Likely the wooden mode will have holes/thin slot to accommodate the rebars and/or wires.
In terms of final strength, is there a difference if you pour the concrete a couple of inches a day over three or four days?
Does the concrete slab have to be poured to full thickness in the same session and cure together as a slab?
Thanks
