My laminate floor moves when you walk on it

I pulled up the floor and smoothed the underlayment. There is some improvement; I'm thinking about removing the underlayment...what do i have to lose.

My laminate floor moves when you walk on it

I'm so sorry-I mean to say that its moving vertically-up and down. not around. Its like its compressing or crushing the underlayment. I tried to get the underlayment flat, but what if I didnt'?

I should also note that despite the horizontal movement, the boards remain locked together.

My laminate floor moves when you walk on it

Howdy folks! I'm in the process of installing a laminate floor in a 5 x 5 powder room-I'm about 3/4 done. When you walk on the new floor, it moves under your feet. The boards are locked together; the movement is hozizontal. The boards that I installed don't seem to be too bowed-some are a...

new walls and an old ceiling

Thanks much! I've seen where you can apply a coat of thinned joint compound with a paint roller-kind of like the suggestion above. Would the skim coat with the roller really work? It sounds strange to me.

new walls and an old ceiling

I have a very small half bath and the existing drywall is messed up. Specifically, the previous owner thought that it was a good idea to apply several coats of paint over old wallpaper paste. first home...wood paneling...i need help!!

I recently removed cheap wood paneling from drywall. Three issues: (a) nails cause a disproportionate amount of damage to the drywall; (b) constrution adhesive; (c) mold. The nail damage was easy enough to repair, but be careful when you remove the paneling or you'll make "L" shaped holes in...

Thanks a lot Glenn. The vent is galvanized and gas line is black.

    Check your dryer duct

I moved into my home about 2.5 years ago. Checking the dryer duct was on the list, but I had about a dozen other "immediate" safety issues. Anywho, I went down to the crawl space, untied the insulation (yes, I untied the nylon rope holding the fiberglass insulation to the ceiling!) and found...
